What do we mean by Missions?

Join Dr. Tippey in a series of short videos as he shines a spotlight on missions, both locally and internationally.

  • What does the Bible say about missions?
  • What do we mean by missions, and who is called to missions?
  • How is missions a key part of making “disciples that demonstrate Christ's character, gather in community, and impact their world”?
  • How is BBC already involved in missions, and in what ways do we see God expanding our role in missions?
  • Where do missionaries go, what they do and how they do it.
  • How do I get involved in missions, both locally and globally?

Intro to Missions

One of our elders, Brett Tippey, gives us an introduction to missions.

What is Missions?

The role of the Church in missions is to take the news of the Gospel to people who have not heard it. As part of our vision and mission at Bridge Bible Church, we sense God calling us to raise up, train, send and support missionaries.

Sending and Being Sent: Part 1

Romans 10:14-16 says “How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent?”

Sending and Being Sent: Part 2

In this video, Brett discusses practical ways you can be a sender to help your brothers and sisters follow God’s call on their lives to serve on the mission field, whether locally or globally.

Sending and Being Sent: Part 3

Brett finishes the discussion about “sending and being sent” with practical ways each of us can be “sent” into the mission field.
